Location of Darjeeling Ropeway

Experiencing the enthralling ropeway at an altitude of 7,000 ft. is just awesome. The Ropeway hub is situated near Darjeeling's heart Rangeet River which has led to the name Rangeet Valley Passenger Cable Car. The mesmerizing view of the valley and the river seems splendid from the top of the cable cars. The hub is in Singamari which just 3 kilometres from Darjeeling Chowk Bazar.

There will be several stoppages in between the journey from Singamari and Singla Bazar. The stretch is about 8 kilometres or 5 miles and merges at the bank of Ramman River. Previously, the cable cars were used to stop on a vast stretch of tea garden which is known as Tukvar village. After that, the next stoppage was another village named Burnesbeg followed by the last stop Singla Tea Estate.

Moreover, the wonderful waterfall of Rock Garden is a stunning view for the naturalists. The fall flows from above through the rocks below. To reach on top of the falls one needs to trek a little bit path from the stairs and reaching to the ramp by crossing small bridges. The trek to the up would be a little difficult for normal tourists though there are a lot of sitting places at different levels where one can take rest for a while and relax. Beautiful flowers, shrubbery, and many other plantations covering the garden give a tranquil aura. For the trekkers, this could a nice short hike.

Both rivers merged into the Great Rangeet River which originates from the glacier of Mount Kabru. The freshwater fishes are the main attraction of the Rangeet River. New Jalpaiguri railway station (NJP) is the nearest station from Darjeeling. You can avail any out of several trains to reach NJP. As you arrive at the station our officials will be there to receive you. From there you will be heading towards Darjeeling by the availed car through curvy roads across the dense forest. It takes around 3 hours from Siliguri by completing 80 kilometres.
